In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (Hecht et al., Advances in Therapy, 2025), 64 children who spent 4 or more hours a day on screens took 4 mg of AstaReal® Astaxanthin or a placebo daily for 84 days. The astaxanthin group showed significantly greater improvement in computer vision syndrome scores (a 20% difference compared with placebo) and significantly lower visual fatigue scores. Depth perception (stereopsis) and the pupil's response to light also improved significantly.
