  • In the glass – One effervescent tablet dissolves in water in seconds, dispersing Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 evenly into a refreshing orange drink, so there is nothing to swallow whole. 
  • Absorption – Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 are fat-soluble, so they are absorbed in the small intestine together with the fats in your meal. Taking Vitamin D with the largest meal of the day raised blood levels by about 50% in one clinical study (Mulligan & Licata, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, 2010). 
  • Activation of Vitamin D3 – The liver converts Vitamin D3 into 25-hydroxyvitamin D, the form measured in a blood test, and the kidneys turn it into calcitriol, the active hormone. 
  • Calcium absorption – Active Vitamin D switches on calcium-transport proteins in the gut. With healthy levels, calcium absorption rises from about 10–15% to 30–40% of dietary calcium (Holick, New England Journal of Medicine, 2007). 
  • K2 puts calcium in the right place – Vitamin K2 activates osteocalcin, which binds calcium into bone, and Matrix Gla Protein, which helps keep calcium out of artery walls.
  • Muscles and immunity – Vitamin D receptors in muscle fibres and immune cells support normal muscle strength and the body's natural defences.
